why ipl 2021 suspended ?
The league’s first match was held in Chennai on the 9th April 2021 between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Commencing with these, 29 matches were played. the last one was played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on the 2nd May of 2021. Due to the rise in covid cases in India, the league was postponed to September 2021. The BCCI decided to postpone the tournament considering the safety of the players and the staff. Some of the players had contracted the Covid-19 virus and the BCCI had to postpone the tournament due to the reason.
The suspension of the tournament made a lot of cricket fans upset but now BCCI is ready to resume the rest of the matches.
